I was taking a look at some of the threads about the US vs Europe and noticed that some people were ashamed of their nationality. I don't see how though, I mean it is your home country! Anyway, just curious to see if people are really ashamed of their nationality.

You probably need to recognise the distinction between being ashamed of your government and being ashamed of your nation. I loathe my government but i am english and am not ashamed to be so. So i am not ashamed of my nationality but i am ashamed by the so called "ambassadors" for it.

all spin no substance. think that britain along with america, and australia are the countries on this planet with a sense of fair play decency and willingness to help others and i will always support britain to the best of my ability

I have no problem with my country except for the government, and probably half of the people living here. But I think it's a great place to live, but if it continues in the direction it's heading, I'm going to have to move the fuck out of here.

I think the US is great but the government running it isn't.

Besides, shouldn't it be "couldn't care less" instead of "could care less"?

I am Germanian... err wrong commercial... (im not canadian)

I am proud of my country (Germany) and pretty much everything about it... No complaints about the government mostly since I have no clue what the government is doing at the moment.

In almost every aspect America is the best place to live. Physically we have everything, beautiful beaches, wetlands, forests, plains, mountains. You name it, America's got it.

Politically I'm very happy with this country, but I sincerely doubt any of us have any idea what direction it's going in. Think about it. In eight months we could have another man in office, who thinks opposite of Bush (and himself for that matter), and this country could be turned in the opposite direction. Right now if everything continues as is, this country is headed for prosperous times in the face of adversity.

Only thing about this country that doesn't make it the best, is the emotion of the people. I'm not going to pretend I know what the sentiment of other country's citizens is, but here in America, seeing people who don't support Bush is one thing, but seeing those who ridicule soldiers, who's job it is to be in Iraq and the Middle East is just sickening. I would love to go to every one of their jobs sometimes and heckle them and tell protest against whatever it is they're doing. I want to seriously demoralize these people who demoralize those who help to protect this great nation. An enemy within is what this country has. But that in turn is a great thing, because only in America do we have such freedoms. Only in America can you hate said Country. Go to Iraq a year and a half ago and say, "I hate Iraq and Saddam Hussein." Yeah see you tomorrow asshole.

Isn’t your chief executive presiding over the worst job loss since the Great Depression?

I’ve yet to see anyone ridicule the soldiers, unless it’s in such a way to suggest they were conned by their government for fight a pointless war. That’s less ridiculing of soldiers and more attacks on your government.

You consider those who like to exercise their right to free speech by speaking out against their government to be in league with the enemy? What brand of ignorance is this?

  What an ill informed dumbass you are. I suppose America is the only country where people have civil liberties? America is the only country where people can speak out against issues they disagree with?

You are an idiotic twat.

Go. Fuck. Yourself.

That began during the last chief executives term and has recovered substantially. Now go bitch about your own problems. Our domestic issues are none of your fucking business.

I’ve yet to see anyone ridicule the soldiers,
You have you putrid twat along with everyone that called Pat Tillman an idiot.

You consider those who like to exercise their right to free speech by speaking out against their government to be in league with the enemy?
He didnt say that. He said the people that hate the soldiers are an enemy within. They are.

In reference to the enemy within, I'm afraid you have to... be a part of this country to realize it. By enemy I mean those with Anti-American sentiment who take advantage of... the advantages that America provides them. I'm not saying speaking out against issues they disagree with. Cunt. I'm saying those who take action against our own country. There's a difference between a peaceful protest, and a protest that gets violent. A protest that gets violent, an anti-war protest, is an example of such. I'm just saying that can you be so bent against something, an issue, to destroy your own country and it's reputation along with it?

Now I'm tired of hearing you be judgemental all the time. In debates people choose to conduct themselves in a manner that is human. Half the shit you say is directed in a derogatory manner towards whoever it is you're debating, for the reason you feel it makes your argument stronger. Here's something Vice. We can all curse and make fun of each other. What seperates everyone here, Me, Shade, Bergs, Instigator, all sides of the spectrum, from you is that we maintain order as we debate and we provide factual basis for our opinions. You curse profusely and are a fucking retard. See? I can do it too asshole.

And By the way, when you've nowhere to turn you can't delete this thread as you've shown the ability to do in past actions.

You equate protesters with terrorists. You’re a dumbass ignoramous.

The whole idea of a protest is to keep it peaceful. Otherwise it’s more like a riot. You don’t hear of people going to march in a riot do you, asshole?

They don’t destroy your country’s reputation. They show that your country still has freedoms. That’s worth much more. Here in Britain we seem to have a major protest every few years. Most people don’t bat an eyelid.

Who?

I'm not ashamed of my country, because I don't consider myself responsible for the actions of my government. I'm proud of my culture and my heritage, if that's what you were asking.
