i've never heard a dillinger escape plan album, but they are absolutely dreadful live. i've had people tell me their album work is much better.

that is my contribution to this thread.

Led Zeppelin sucks live (partly due by Jimmy Page, sloppy guitarist), but have awesome records.

Seriously?

Dragonforce sucks donkey cock live.
Yeah ...

1) They had to follow Symphony X ... and I think many people realized how much they suck compared to the glory that is Symphony X.
2) Not even the hardcore fans seemed to be able to discern one song from another. The singer is like "This next song is about time ..." Everybody just kind of stared at each other.

I have heard that RHCP's lead singer is terrible live. Only heard, because I haven't seem them yet.
I can confidently say that that is bullshit. Anthony almost as good live as he is on records.

The mars volta sucked so much ass it was unbelievable.

I personally loved the dragonforce show i went to, the place was so small it was nuts.

Draganforce is absolutely horrible both live and in studio, making it the second time I've mentioned this here on this forum.

The Mars Volta is ok, though best enjoyed under the influence; take your pick.

And finally, regardless of how good they are, Sigur Ros was surprisingly very boring.

Wow, lots of Dragonforce hate. I've heard from my fellow Firewind fans who went to see them with Dragonforce said that Firewind rocked compared to Dragonforce. Guess it was true.

Also Lamb of God didn't impress me all that much during the Unholy Alliance tour and I like some of their records.

Serj from System of a Down can't hit a note in real life, which was a major disappointment for me. The whole band isn't very tight.

Yea, that is true, i saw DEP live and also met the band at Gigantour last year. Live, theyre crazy, but the music is god-awful. Albumwise they are better, i mean they had Mike Patton sing lead for them at one point.

Dream Theater sounds absolutely amazing live, but Petrucci and Myung need to work on their stage prescense a bit more... Myung stayed in the exact same spot the entire set, and Petrucci only moved to go rest his foot on a monitor while he shredded an effortless solo. Portnoy was fucking great though, he gets into it, throws sticks out to people on the side of the stage and they throw it back and he catches them. He also spits a lot... every few minutes youd see him tilt his head back and lob a big one in front of his set.

yeah, i had heard that they were crazy live. the singer did some pretty cool things, like climbing onto the hanging stereo and climbing into the balcony (the security guard got pissed)
