So amazing that a whole city of that size can be abandoned and no one ever comes back (yes, I know they can't because of radiation).

Be careful guys, due to the way this video was filmed and edited, it has over 1 trillion deadly carcinogens in it.

Anybody know the name of the song? Composer?
Kind of an eerie place.......
They had to evacuate the town within hours due to a massive explosion in a nearby nuclear power plant. The explosion sent massive amount of radioactive dust into the air and would have killed hundreds if the population wasn't ordered out.

Refer to the Chernobyl accident for details.

I've seen the studies of this on TLC. They've stated that the radiation levels have "ceased" there and that people can actually live there, but no one wants to. It's like having your whole family murdered at your house then the cops telling you that your folks left the house to you. Yeah, it's cool and all, but why go back?

Three minutes into the video, there is a toilet in the middle of the street.. I just found it random.
yeah a couple plumbers had just installed a new toilet in one of those apartments. they were about to load the old toilet onto their truck when the authoritites came by and told everyone to drop what they were doing and leave the city. oprah had them on her show talking about it. they were complaining that the lady in the apartment never paid them for installing the new toilet.

Someone should organize a GIGANTIC week long free-for-all paint ball tournament there...
Agreed, I heard the radiation levels have gotten lower. They're low to a point where you can visit the area for a brief period of time. However, you can't live there. I heard there's some organized paintball tournament limited to a city block or so. I just can't find the site about it.

Let's go there, grow massive amounts of marijuana, and run this world.

Who's with me....?

For those of you wondering about growing "crops" in the Chernobyl, you may want to reconsider. The soil is still contaminated and most of the plant life in the area is dead. Sure, it may start to grow a little bit, but then once it starts absorbing radiation instead of nutrients, your plant will die off.

I see lots of living trees. But hey, even though this is all a joke, you could bring your own pots and soil if you wanted to  .

And to the guy who wants to brew massive amounts of beer with me as well, we will also grow huge crops of cocktail-weiner trees to keep our appetite at a good level with all that beer and weed.
