just need some quick help, my friend is really into this game and wants me to check it out,

So, what I wanna know is, do I BUY a steam account? Or buy the game then just download steam? or like how does this whole process work?

Or, if anyone wants to save me some time, sell me there account?(Pay pal/ebay)

You can buy the game in store and play it without touching Steam or you can download Steam from www.steampowered.com, install steam, once installed you will be asked to set up an account, the account is free. Then go to My Games and you will see a list of games, all those games need to be bought. You will double click them, it will preload a small amount but after the preload you will need to purchase the game immediately with a credit card, once you pay for it the game will start downloading and it's yours. If you wipe your hard drive no worries, log onto your steam account and redownload CSS, HL2, whatever you purchase.

1) Download Steam.
2) Click on game (there are many) that you want to play
3) You will have to buy CS:confused:
4) Put in credit card details
5) Download/install game (automatic)
6) Play chosen game/s
7) Pwn sum N00B5.

It's an easy process.

I'll sell you my one for $19.95. I've got banned CSS accounts too, I cheated a lot in 1.6, then didn't pay attention to VAC updates and would get banned.

I'll sell you a VAC banned account for $1.50, it's nearly useless.

I just realized I've spent around $140.00 on counterstrike in all these years. That's wasted money right there, getting banned.

How about you stop hacking, noob. :@

And yes, just download steam and purchase the game from steam, not need for CDs or going out to buy it.

Okay, it's not baffling me, I just have NEVER played steam, ever.

And what I'm used to is buying a cd from a store, putting it in the computer, and away I go.

But I'm lazy, and was wondering if I can just purchase an account itself, or the game online somehow.

Anyways, what I've got is, buy steam, and from steam buy CSS. Which is cool. Is that all I gotta do and I'm set?

no you have to sell your soul, why would buying a game legally from the publisher allow you to play the game?

No you download steam. Put in credit card. Buy COUNTERSTRIKE SOURCE and then let it download to your computer. Then you play, it isn't that confusing.
