This is interesting...I was doing some research to see what a $5,000 Mustang would look like and I came across this.

1970 Ford Mustang

EDIT: Okay I've come to a conclusion...$5,000 Mustangs from the 70's don't exist :)

the 70 BOSS 429 was probably the most valuable mustang of the 70's mustangs. and if that one really only cost $7000 i am seriously going to drive to wher ever it is and buy it. you can buy two nice mustang II's for $5k. but mustang II's suck.

that has to be a typo in the ad, they probably ment $70,000 and forgot a zero.

Yeah... I don't see how your going to get a 12-26 year old POS excuse of a Mustang (if you even want to call it that) with 120hp-235hp of Ford engineering to compete with the top notch supercars of today. Go ahead... Explain this to me. Don't forget your budget - $20,000.

L4NC3R- you could litterally buy a fox chassis 5.0 and make it run 9's for 20K.

or would you spell it F()X (|-|455|5?

shitty fox body- $800
junk yard 460 - $200
shit to make 460 fit in ther with a C6-$600
300 shot of nitrous, intake, demon carb, headers- $1500
9 inch with 4.10 spool- $700(new, used are cheaper)
slicks - $300

about $3,500 and if you couldnt make that run 9's you have some problems.
it wouldnt be nice looking at all but it should be pretty fuckin fast.

actually hot rod or car craft did a budget drag competition a few years ago, the cars were only allowed to have like 2 or 3 grand total into them and someone showed up with a junk yard 500 cu in caddie motor with nitrous in a fox body and i think it ran mid 9's.

Actually... '94 Mustangs fall under the SN95 Body style.
You're right...I meant 93... :)

Basically, teh 94-04 Mustangs are usually refered to as the SN95
Mustangs, since the Fox chassis reengineering project was named SN-95 at
Ford during development. the SN95 chassis is essentially a modified Fox chassis
also (much stiffer, mainly, also a revised front suspension geometry)

Bitch... :wtf:

Its still an estimate, regardless of how detailed you get. Until I see some brands, some websites, some parts... I won't truly believe it.

untill you pay me $5 to look up brand names and shit, i wont truly care.

I think you just need to get out there and talk to some mustang owners...If you cant find them...then just join a forum and troll around on there and learn a bit about em - they really have to be one of thee cheapest modern cars to modify - if not THE cheapest...It's really no other truth to it.

Fair enough... But until then, can their be a legit supercar for under $20,000 that can run full circuits with the best on the market? I can only see the 5.0 running 1/4 miles. I just can't see a 5.0 running Nurburgring quicker than a GT or Zonda.
