I'm saving up money for a school where I can get training in writing and film directing, and I was wondering what type of school I should enroll in, how much it usually costs and somewhere located in the midwest (near or possibly in Iowa). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Well, I know Xavier University in Ohio has a pretty good film school I think. I took film at the University of Cincinnati when I lived there, it was pretty decent. As for the best renowned, I'm not sure of if you can find those in the midwest. I mean I think they will all be decent though. If you can ever afford it for out of the midwest, of course NY has one of the best and Full Sail in Florida is pretty nice too.

This site lists many film schools in the US. They're aren't any in Iowa, though.
http://www.filmschools.com/

This might help give you an idea of the type of college programs you could take in Iowa:

Here are a few more school/program finders:

And, for good measure, here is IMDb's list of US film schools:

Hope these help.

I'm applying to the film conservatory at Purchase College NY. Only problem is they only accept 20 out of 500 applicants to the film school. I'm also applying to Ithaca College, also in NY, another school for the arts, film being one of the majors there. I'm going to whichever one of those schools accepts me first.
