Forget Bush and Cheney, what about the intelligence services

    It's the CIA and the NSA etc who deserve the grilling. People seem to blame Bush directly for the intelligence failures, when it's the people behind the scenes who really deserve to get their asses kicked. However, following 9/11 Bush didn't even sack his CIA director. He kept him on to preside over yet another major intelligence failure: WMD in Iraq.

    At the end of the day it was their ineptitude that resulted in the failure to prevent 9/11. Has the CIA director gone before the committee yet? If not, why not? If he has, what did he say? Can anyone provide a link?

    Why not? Just because I'm not American doesn't mean I cannot take an interest in America.

    Edit: For the sake of keeping this topic on track, why don't you overlook that fact that I'm English.
