Anyways, general interest of mine, what do you pay, what are your speeds and what do get of speed tests. Do you use DSL or cable? Is is shit or great?

I pay $100 / month for Shaw Highspeed Nitro, I get:

25 mbps download
1 mbps upload

Average:

15 mbps download
800 kbps upload

Websites top off around 13-15 for downloading. But for peer-peer torrents it works great.

Oh, BTW its cable.

BTW - what is better, DSL or cable?

I say for "top" speeds and system reliability - cable

For speed consistencies - DSL.

Anyways this is an a thing I like to chat about so don't diss me.

Is it easy to catch someone stealing a wireless signal?
Ya, it all gets logged and anyone with the knowledge could track the person who entered the network illegaly.

yb-yellow, cable is faster than DSL. I pay $60 a month and get up to 15Mbits download and 5mbits upload.

I send HTTP commands to my provider via carrier pigeon.

First I take a piece of paper and write "SYN" on it. I attach it to the pigeon and he sends it. After about 20 minutes the pigeon returns to my house with a piece of paper with "ACK" on it. This goes on for quite a bit, until I have all the HTML code and other information with which I am then able to type into my computer and compile for viewing.

Verizon DSL, Bandwidth place tells me I get 1.5MB down, DSL really is in the stone age. A friend of mine with Comcast gets 16mb down.

You must be stealing a hidden cable wire.

Apartment complex.. Looks like back-bone cable.

I have heard of this guy who got 50mbps down on a back-bone, stable Time-warner-cable connection.

For some reason Asia gets faster speeds then N.America gets.
