I want to get a pet but I'm not sure what to get. I can't get a cat or dog. I used to have a dwarf hamster and a chinchilla. Any suggestions? I wish I could get a panda!

I have three dwarf rabbits and they're great pets. All three are litterbox trained and very friendly. The only drawback is that they like to chew baseboards and rugs, but I trained them out of that with a water spray bottle.

Ooo, I've never heard of dwarf rabbits before. My sister just got a rabbit and it was the nicest thing on earth. It just sat on my lap for 2 hours while I watched tv.

Can you pet a hedgehog or are they too spikey? Was yours friendly? That sounds like it would be a cool pet. Although I'd have to make sure not to name it Sonic

If it's not upset it won't tense up it's muscles and make the spines rise, if it's calm you can pet it, it's not like a porcupine, it dosn't have really sharp spines and it can't shoot them.....I don't think, my friend had one named Danny

they are only spikey when they feel threatened. at first you'll have to suck it up and bleed from the spikes, but one they get used to you, theyre great. they dont try to run away when you hold them, and theyre really soft.

mine disappeared over night =(

I'm a fan of cats and dogs...my buddy has a chiwawa which is small, but I guess thats not small enough for you. My fiance' has a friend that has rats. I didn't think a rat could possibly be cool, but it turns out they have quite a personality to them, and are very interesting due to their inquisitve nature. The dwarf rabbits sounded like a really good idea though...

Of all things, my friend has a rat that is totally too smart. It kind of freaked me out. I couldn't imagine having a rat but this one was awesome.

I have three pitbulls that are the most fun you could ever have with a pet. Maybe you should get a bigger pet.

I used to have rats and they were cool, but they both got tumors and died pretty young. So I'm scared to get more rats, but they were cool. I wish I could get a cat or dog, but where I live I'm not able to. Sugar Gliders look cool, but I don't know if they're allowed in California. I'm going to look into getting a hedgehog. :D

my brother have two rats, an albino named matty and a light brown one named mighty. they like dark places though, but theyre good boob warmers though, lol.

my fave pet would have to be prarie dogs. i dont think they can sell them now (unless they stopped the ban) b/c of monkey pox. :( theyre so cute though, and theyre very social creatures, so they love attention.

I kinda' want a rat...my Chem. teacher had one in her lab (she found it wandering outside the school...someone let it loose at a dance), and the little thing would crawl all over me and chatter every now and then...

I'm kinda' warming up to the idea of a guinae pig or whatever.

But I'd KILL for one of those little naked Sphynx cats or a chihuahua... :(

AHEM.

I was at the mall the other day and there was a little shop like thing in the middle of the mall (those little mini stores that u just walk by and look at the shelves) and they had this little hermit crab island. They had like multi colored pebbles , and the shells were all painted , and they had mini cages with half coconut huts! it was badass. The point : Hermit crabs are small and once they get used to be handled...kickass.

You should get a rat, those are really cool and they truly do get a little personality. Don't ever get a dwarf hamster, sure they look adorable but those bitches are stupid and mean. I got bitten by mine tons of times for no reason. I am glad it died.

Another small pet you could get is a Dojo loach. It is a fish that sort of looks like an eel, and it has lots of whiskers around its mouth. Unlike most fish, you can touch them and they like it. I have a ten gallon tank that has three Dojo loaches in it along with some Mollies, Clown loaches, and Gouramis. You can also hand feed Dojo loaches little pieces of worms or fish food. They aren't the cutest fish, but they are definetly cool. Look at them on this website. They are called Dojo Loaches. (They are also called Weather loaches because they supposedly swim erratically around the tank in circles before it rains. Has something to do with barometric pressures.) www.loaches.com/ Pictures of them are on the right hand side, a little down the page.

I have a rabbit, and its a great pet. the only bad thing about rabbits is that they shed a lot. if you don't want that, a cat is good, sheds too, but not as much. if u raise a kitten from a very early age, and handle it a lot, they will be great cuddlers who will warm up ur day. :)

get yourself a couple of ferrets. They are the funniest.
I had ferrets and I loved them but thy get pissed easy and piss on everything. I had a ferret that got huge and wanted to kill anything that got in it's path.

What about a bird?? They are messy but I still love their personilities.

I still like the rat idea. They have great personalities!
